March Veteran and Vintage Cycle Club at The Littleport Show
March Veteran and Vintage Cycle Club was the idea of a group of cycle enthusiasts and friends who wanted to promote an interest in veteran and vintage bicycles. The club officially formed in 1981 and the inaugural rally took place on 28th April 1983. Thirty riders on all manner of machines participated in a 5 mile (8km) ride around March.
The club aims to preserve, renovate and display machines as they would have looked when originally purchased. Where possible the riders also turn out in period costume.
The club is often seen at galas, fetes, events and rallies including those of other veteran cycle clubs both locally and nationally.
These days there are some 100 members from the East Midlands, East Anglia and the northern Home Counties
The club is a member of the National Association of Veteran Cycle Clubs.
Please take the time to appreciate the clubs efforts in not only presenting their many cycles but also themselves; as you will find them all in authentic and period costume.
