The Littleport Horticultural Society  

If this is your first visit to the Littleport Show then make sure you call in at the Littleport Horticultural Society Marquee.  The Society consists of about twenty members who all share a common interest in gardening: They meet throughout the year, mainly to set the schedule and organize the annual Show which is held at the Littleport Show ground on Highfield. They also hold a Charity Show each year at the “Littleport Ex-Service-men’s Club” in September where all monies collected go to a local Charity. 

The society are always keen for new members and all are welcome; have a word with one of the friendly faces in the marquee to see how to get involved. 

At the date of going to press there had been over 100 entry forms collected or handed out; and it is expected that this year will be one of the finest for entry numbers. 

Classes are open to all; enter as many or as few classes as you wish. Exhibits must be grown, or produced by and be the property of the person exhibiting. Although you are advised to read the full schedule, rules and terms and conditions, the 100 classes range from: Flowers and Fruit, Soft Fruit, Potatoes, Vegetables, Other Vegetables. Agricultural, Produce and Handicraft and include such classes as:- A hanging basket, mixed variety of flowers (three or more species, under 12”), a tapestry any size, One vase of perennial or annual flowers (3 species, 2 stems of each) no roses, a  pair of leeks (washed and untrimmed) to a wooded toy.  

All entries must be completed and delivered to the Horticultural Secretary along with entry fees, not later than 4pm on the Friday prior to the Show; early entries are appreciated. Judging of the entries will commence at 9.15 am and the Horticultural Show will end at 5pm, immediately after the Show is terminated, it is hoped an auction of produce, that exhibitors have voluntarily contributed, will take place.  

All trophies awarded are perpetual trophies, and will be presented to individual winners approximately 30 minutes before closure of the Show.
